Dedicated to Angelo D’Arrigo

Monday, March 27th, 2006

Today a bad news reach me, a person, that I don’t know directly, dead in a very “stupid” airplane crash.

Angelo D’Arrigo, very famous worldwide (National Geographic dedicate to him many reportage), he was from my same city Catania and he was very brave.

From his official site: “Angelo d’Arrigo has flown all over the world over the course of his sporting career, at the highest international level of competitive flying . He has flown across seas, deserts, volcanoes, glaciers and mountain chains in some of the remotest parts of the planet, flying with eagles and all kinds of birds of prey.”

Lack of Culture

Friday, March 24th, 2006

Funny thing the Culture. It is at the base of any civilization…but missing on the web. In 99% of web sites where there are arguments tag or categories…you never see “culture”, don’t talk about “museums”…most common word is “Art” sometimes “Art & Culture”. For example in Technorati Blog Finder they missing Art, Culture and Museums…very sad!

SMS (update)

Saturday, March 18th, 2006

How many museums use SMS (Short Message System) to communicate information to visitors/members etc?

SMS are very used in Europe, and based on my short experience also in USA and Canada. In USA I don’t understand if is possible to transmit and receive SMSs to and from different cellular phone carrier.

The chance to use SMS to inform about new exhibition, special opening, book sign, lectures etc is to use in deep. Cost are not high, specially when a big number of SMS is buy. And using SMS to communicate, will means to reach the target in real time.
